Have you ever had the pleasure of spending the day with five and six year olds? I have been given that blessing each and every day! This is my 37th year of teaching and I guess God isn't finished with me yet! When I was about to retire from teaching in the public school, God closed one door and opened another. I was given the privilege of teaching kindergarten at St. Edward School and now I am approaching my fourth year here. I began my teaching career in kindergarten and I guess I will finish my career in kindergarten. My goal for kindergarten students and all students is to "love themselves" and "love coming to school" and all the academics will fall into place. I do my best to make that happen each and every day!
I will tell you a little bit about myself: I have been married to Mark Cockrell for 40 years. We have two beautiful grown children, Brent and Lindsey, and they have two beautiful spouses, Stacia Cockrell and Skyler Jones, that we consider our kids too. We also have four wonderful grandchildren--two of which go to St. Edward: Brynlea Cockrell in second grade and Zane Cockrell in preschool. Our grandchildren Kolby and Cora Jones live in St. Charles, Illinois. God has blessed us tremendously with family, church family-Indian Creek Christian Church, and a wonderful job where I get to spend the day with loving children and a wonderful staff who loves the Lord and each other.
St. Edward School is a positive school where everyone loves the Lord and each other and everyone works tremendously hard to always allow the children to succeed and do their best! It is a pleasure to work here!
